1.9 percent of University of Alaska Fairbanks students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 1.9 percentage of University of Alaska Fairbanks students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

University of Alaska Fairbanks has 6,639 undergraduate students, of which 58 percent are women and 42 percent are men, and a total student body of 7,664 students. Of these students, 74 men and 68 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at University of Alaska Fairbanks with the most participants are basketball (32), track and field, x-country (32) and ice hockey (29).
